SILVER DOLLAR CITY LIGHTS UP WITH NEW PUMPKIN NIGHTS
Taking the lead with a family-oriented flair, Silver Dollar City is going full glow this autumn with more than 10,000 pumpkins lighting up the 1880s theme park well into the evening Sept. 25-Oct. 26. The new Harvest Festival, Craft Days & Pumpkin Nights, presented by Humana, will transform Silver Dollar City into acres of towering carved sculptures and artisan-created masterpieces in the City’s biggest Fall in a nearly six-decade history. Guests will enjoy giant scarecrows, cats, owls, totem poles and a nearly 3-story Pumpkin Greeter. There will be a glow-in-the-dark black light dance party and specially-created pumpkin foods. The thrill rides will also soar into the evening, allowing for breathtaking views of a park aglow below. Bring your family for some great fall fun!
SHEPHERD’S MILL
Shepherd of the Hills announces the opening of a new restaurant, Shepherd’s Mill. It will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Monday through Saturday 7 am to 9 pm, and on Sunday for breakfast and lunch from 7 am to 3 pm. Shepherd’s Mill replaces the original restaurant, Aunt Mollie’s Cupboard, that was lost in a 2002 fire. The décor is a unique, rustic dining experience in line with the original eatery and theme of the park. Breakfast includes traditional staples such as biscuits and gravy, pancakes, and a giant cinnamon roll, big enough for an entire table to share. Lunch and dinner offer a variety of traditional “home-cooked” dishes, including Shepherd’s Pie, Old Matt’s Fried Chicken, Aunt Mollie’s Meatloaf and more.
